Bethany Harris - Miss Wales 2018

I can't believe it's been a month since I was crowned Miss Wales 2018, and what an exciting month it has been! The weekend final itself was such an amazing way to celebrate all the achievements and friendships that finalists had made on their Miss Wales journey. I know I have made friends for life, and will cherish the memories that we have made together. To have the final night in my home city of Newport, made the win even more significant, and I hope I can use my title to support local charities and organisations not only in Newport, but further afield too. I am excited for the year ahead, and have already experienced lots of things I have never done before, which I have found beneficial to my personal development. I’ve jumped at every opportunity that has come my way... from being a VIP guest at the documentary screening of Married to the Game, to having media interviews about becoming Miss Wales, whilst discussing my plans for the year ahead. I have attended charity balls for The National Autistic Society and a-Sisterhood, where I have heard inspiring stories, and had the privilege of wearing over £50,000 worth of diamonds! I have also had the opportunity to model beautiful wedding wear for the Royal Wedding live on S4C. Being given these opportunities has allowed me to grow in confidence, meet new people, and really broaden my horizons. I feel honoured to be an ambassador for our beautiful country, and I am really excited to carry on supporting local communities and charities for the year ahead. I can’t wait to get stuck into as much as possible, and I'm especially looking forward to representing Wales at Miss World in China later this year.
